About The Artist

Stacey Ellerbe Carter

Mixed Media Sculptor & Visual Artist | South Florida

Stacey Ellerbe Carter is a mixed media sculptor and visual artist based in South Florida. Her journey into art began long before she ever called herself an artist — rooted in her childhood home where her mother, Delores Ellerbe, a gifted painter from Charleston, South Carolina, filled every room with dynamic, soulful work throughout the 1970s. Through her mother’s example, Carter learned that art could be a language of identity, power, and love — a foundation that continues to shape everything she creates today.

Working under her brand Stacey Carter Art, she pushes the boundaries of traditional sculpture, merging craftsmanship with innovation. Her immersive, oversized 3D wall sculptures are built from layers of textiles, plaster, resin, metal, clay, and wood — materials she coaxes into soulful, bold, textured surfaces.

Carter’s work has earned recognition that reflects the depth of her artistry and the boldness of her vision. Her piece “Black Licorice” was selected by jury committee for the Montclair Art Museum’s Juneteenth Exhibition — a milestone that affirms her place among today’s most compelling emerging artists.

Stacey Ellerbe Carter resides in South Florida with her husband, Irv, and their two adult children, Gia and Irv IV. Her family is her foundation — the quiet well of strength, love, and inspiration from which all great work flows.
