Black Lava III

Black Lava III

Private Inquiry

Acquisition by private inquiry

Black Lava III is an original three-dimensional wall sculpture by Stacey Carter Art.

Created with black textured vines of textile, plaster, clay, acrylic, and resin, the piece carries the same molten visual language as the Black Lava series, but in a singular vertical format. Its surface is dark, reflective, and tactile, with raised texture that catches light across the piece.

Black Lava III is especially suited for narrow walls, entryways, collector spaces, or any area that needs a vertical sculptural statement without overwhelming the room.

The work is framed, finished with a black suede backing, and includes attached hardware for installation.

A Milestone Work

Stacey’s work, “Black Licorice,” was selected by jury committee for the Montclair Art Museum’s Juneteenth Exhibition — a milestone that reflects both the power of her artistry and the courage it takes to pursue a dream at any stage of life.

A Foundation In Art, Identity & Love

Carter’s artistic foundation was laid in her childhood home, where her mother, Delores Ellerbe — a gifted painter from Charleston, South Carolina — filled every room with dynamic, soulful work in the 1970s.

Through her mother’s example, Carter learned that art could be a language of identity, power, and love.
