Blue Black is an original three-dimensional wall sculpture by Stacey Carter Art, created with black textured vines and faint Yves Klein Blue shadows.

Built from textile, plaster, clay, and black resin, the work carries a deep sculptural surface that shifts with light and distance. From afar, it reads as a powerful black composition. Up close, its blue shadows emerge through the texture, giving the piece movement, depth, and an almost electric center.

The work is framed, finished with a black suede backing, and includes attached hardware for installation.

A Foundation In Art, Identity & Love

Carter’s artistic foundation was laid in her childhood home, where her mother, Delores Ellerbe — a gifted painter from Charleston, South Carolina — filled every room with dynamic, soulful work in the 1970s.

Through her mother’s example, Carter learned that art could be a language of identity, power, and love.
